How we make money.

No mystery, no small print you need a lawyer for. Here's exactly how BOPM pays for itself — and why it never changes what you see.

The short version

When you click through to a retailer from BOPM and buy something, that retailer sometimes pays us a small commission. It costs you nothing — you pay exactly what you'd pay going direct. That commission is how we keep the lights on while BOPM stays free for you to use.

The bit that matters: commission never affects the order of results. Retailers can't pay to jump the queue — not for money, not for biscuits. We rank by relevance and rating, full stop.

What an affiliate link is

BOPM is a search and discovery engine. We don't sell toys. When you find a toy and tap "Go to [retailer]", we send you to that retailer's own website to buy it. Some of those links are affiliate links — they carry a tag that tells the retailer "BOPM sent this shopper."

If you then buy, the retailer pays us a small percentage through an affiliate network (AWIN, Amazon, CJ Affiliate or Rakuten). The price you pay is identical whether you come via BOPM or type the address in yourself.

03

What it does not do

  • It doesn't add a penny to your price.
  • It doesn't change which retailer shows first. The cheapest total is flagged, but rows are ordered by what's actually best — stock, delivery speed and service — never by who pays us.
  • It doesn't mean we only show retailers who pay. We show every retailer worth checking, paying or not.
  • It doesn't hide the cheaper option. If a non-paying retailer is the better deal, that's what you'll see.

Where you'll see this said

We tell you about affiliate links right next to the retailer options — on search results, category pages and every product page — not buried down here in a policy. We also say it in any price-drop alert email. You shouldn't have to go looking to find out how a site makes its money.

Tracking and your consent

Affiliate tracking only fires after you've accepted the relevant cookies. Until then, no affiliate or analytics tracking runs — that's a legal requirement under PECR, and it's also just the right way to do it. You can change your choice any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer. Full detail lives in our Cookie Policy and Privacy Policy.
