That's why they're proper nocturnal hunters, stalking small rodents and birds when the sun goes down. The average domestic cat sleeps about 18 hours a day—living the dream, really—and spends their waking hours on the hunt for food.

Unlike their wild cousins, domestic cats aren't solitary loners. They quite like human attention and get on well with other animals, even some dogs if you're lucky.
