Chameleons are reptiles from the iguana suborder, and yes, they're the ones famous for changing colour. But here's the thing — they're not doing it to blend in with their surroundings like some sort of lizard magician. What's actually happening is their skin shifts colour based on how they're feeling (think anger or fear) and in response to changes in light, temperature, or humidity. Quite a bit more interesting than the myth, really.
