This Giganotosaurus was one of the largest meat-eating dinosaurs around, roaming what's now Argentina during the late Cretaceous Period, roughly 99.6 to 97 million years ago. For ages, everyone reckoned the T. rex was the biggest carnivorous dinosaur on the block. These days, Giganotosaurus is thought to have been slightly larger than a T. rex, though even it gets outsize by some of the more recently discovered meat-eating dinosaurs.
